Omega-3 & Lower Health Costs
Omega-3 and lutein with zeaxanthin supplements would save seniors billions of dollars in health care costs according to a study by the Dietary Supplement Education Alliance.*
According to the American Heart Association, 13 million Americans suffer from Coronary Heart Disease, with men experiencing their first heart attack at the average age of 65.8 years and women at 70.4 years. A qualified health claim for the role of omega-3 supplements, in people over 65 years of age, in preventing Coronary Heart Disease, was approved by the FDA in 2000 and again in September of 2004.
Age-related vision loss from macular degeneration may be reduced by taking lutein with zeaxanthin, preventing Americans from becoming dependent on nursing facilities. These findings are good news and The Dietary Supplement Education Alliance reinforces the value and health benefits of supplement use.
Vitamin Health offers both a lutein/zeaxanthin supplement (Viteyes Essentials) and an omega-3 supplement (Viteyes Omega-3). Lutein can also be found as part of the other Viteyes® eye health supplements. Visit viteyes.com for more information.
